Moldovan – Georgian convention on avoidance of double taxation to be published in Official Journal

Chisinau, 05 April /MOLDPRES/ – The law on ratification of Convention between the Government of Moldova and Government of Georgia will be published in Official Journal of Moldova on 06 April. The document provides for avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion on income taxes.
According to the law, it implies intensification of economic cooperation between Moldova and Georgia, by creating favourable conditions for business communities and attracting foreign investments into national economies.
The document also regulates the way info is exchanged between parties as to avoid double taxation and prevent tax evasion.
The Moldovan – Georgian Convention was signed in November 2017 during working visit of Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, to Tbilisi.
The Government will take necessary steps for Convention's implementation. At the same time, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) will notify Georgian government on ratification of the document.
At present, Moldova applies 48 double – taxation conventions/agreements to avoid double taxation.
