Moldova joins CIS Programme for Combating Terrorism

Chisinau, 05 April /MOLDPRES/ – The Legislature has ratified today the Decision of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS): On the Program of Collaboration of the CIS states in combating terrorism and other violent expressions of extremism for 2017 – 2019. There voted 75 members of Parliament (MPs) for joining the programme.
The programme aims to extend and strengthen the level of cooperation of CIS member states in the process of prevention, detection, counteraction and follow – up of terrorist and extremist acts, coordinated implementation of operative investigative measures and special operations for prophylactic purposes, informative and scientific collaboration, collaborating into staff training, preparing of specialists, cooperation with international organisations, etc.
Also today, MPs approved accession of the Republic of Moldova to the Decision of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS on amendment of the Regulation on the Council of Ministers for Home Affairs of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The decision of the CIS aims to improve regulations monitoring the work of Bureau for coordinating the fight against organised crime and other dangerous crimes on territory of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States by optimising the process of organising its activity.
