Moldovan city hosts regular meeting of working groups for agriculture, environmental protection

Chisinau, 06 April /MOLDPRES/ – There were held ordinary meetings of agricultural and environmental working groups at headquarters of OSCE Mission to Moldova in Tiraspol today.

According to the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service, experts held an exchange of views on subjects to be included on agenda of working group 2018 and implementation of signed documents in 2015 – 2016, namely:

1. Protocol Decision: On cooperation in the field of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources from 30.10.2015.;

2. Protocol: On interaction in hydrometeorology from 10.06.2016.;

3. Protocol: Cooperation in management of fishing and sustainable use of biological water resources of the Dniester river from 15.06.2016.

The parties also discussed topics related to:

- establishing periods of prohibition for fishing in the Dniester river basin during natural breeding of hydrobiones, with elaboration of relevant recommendations;

- daily info exchange in hydrometeorological field;

- exchanging data on air quality and exposure to radiation;

- coordination and restoration of sampling format on surface of water, including on the left bank of the Dniester river;

- combating poaching and illegal fishing during periods of prohibition laid down;

- info exchange and establishment of a common plan for multiplication of fish of different varieties in the Dniester river;

- prolongation of term of the Protocols Decision of 15.06.2016.

The parties reiterated on need to ensure dynamic work within sectoral working groups and plenary engagement.
