Moldovan speaker on visit to United States

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu pays a visit to the USA on 11-19 April 2018, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The speaker will deliver a speech at the United Nations General Assembly meeting on road safety on measures taken to reduce the number of trafficking victims and the importance of prevention measures including legislative instruments, road infrastructure and education standards. These issues were recently approached in a meeting convened at the parliament between Candu and government officials, foreign partners and civil society.
As a road safety ambassador, appointed by the Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport and speaker, Candu will attend the Global Parliamentary Conference in New York on the World Bank’s and the International Monetary Fund’s parliamentary network. Lawmakers from all continents will set the agenda for this year.
Also, the speaker will hold meetings with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed and Honorary Consul of Moldova in New York Mark Meyer.
In Washington, he will have meetings at the US Congress, USAID, IMF, World Bank and US Treasury and US Department of State.
