Republic of Korea provides computers to 15 Moldovan educational institutions

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research today delivered 150 computers and 3 laptops to 15 general education institutions in the country. It was provided by the Jeju Province, Republic of Korea, based on the memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.

New computers will be offered to schools from the districts of Anenii Noi, Cahul, Cimișlia, Fălești, Hâncești, Taraclia, Sângerei, Strășeni, Ungheni, Chișinău and Găgăuzia.

Attending the event, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc thanked Jeju Province partners for their support, openness and investment in the education system in Moldova.

“We live in a time when changes in all fields are happening in a fast pace, and the demands of modern society and employers are constantly evolving. School of the 21st century cannot escape these trends, therefore the digital competence of pupils and teachers, effective integration of ICT in education, “robotics” and “applied informatics” modules in primary education are priorities of MECC,” Babuc said.

The memorandum signed by the authorities of Chisinau and the Republic of Korea provides for the donation of 450 computers for equipping the general education institutions of Moldova, as well as the participation of 60 teachers in ICT training courses in Korea.

The value of each computer is 19,779 lei.

So far, 24 general education institutions have been equipped with computers provided by Korean partners, ranging from 5 to 15 units, depending on the total number of pupils in the institution.
