Moldova present at Francophonie Weeks in Azerbaijan

Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Embassy in Azerbaijan organized more events on the development of Francophonie in Moldova and education opportunities of the country, within the Francophonie Week held in Azerbaijan on 1-14 April, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
At the opening of the Francophonie Academic Forum, held at the Baku-based Linguistic Academy, Moldova’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Gheorghe Leuca presented concisely Moldova’s role within the International Organization of La Francophonie. At the same time, the pro-rector of the Moldova Free International University (ULIM), university professor, PhD Elena Prus referred to the Francophonie in Moldova, with emphasis on the French-speaking branches from the Moldovan Technical University, ULIM, Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University, Academy of Economic Sciences, cooperation with the institutions and universities promoting the Francophonie from the Eastern Europe.
During the Francophonie Week, Moldova’s Embassy in Baku and other representatives who came to Azerbaijan organized an exhibition of painting titled, Metaphysical spectacle of colours, by fine artist Cezar Secrieru, screening of a documentary film titled, Chisinau – a European Capital, by Leontina Vatamanu, as well as a short-reel film, Milica, made by Valeriu Jereghi. Within the Francophonie Weeks, the diplomatic mission organized a tasting of Moldovan wines and a stand in national style, presenting to the public popular traditions, as well as the main tourist attractions of Moldova.
