Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/ - Chisinau acting mayor Silvia Radu has turned down charges, according to which she would enjoy hidden support on behalf of Moldova’s Democratic Party (PDM). Radu said that she had never been member of any political party. The official made statements to this effect in an interview given exclusively to MOLDPRES.
The acting mayor described the charges as rumours. “My opponents launched this rumour in the public space, as they want to attack me in this way. They realized that I am a person hard to be attacked from the viewpoint of management and have already found other ways,” Silvia Radu said.
“I think that people realize what is the truth, especially as the municipal institutions started working, which has not taken place so far,” the Chisinau acting mayor stressed.
Silvia Radu earlier this week informed that she had initiated a process of collecting signatures for participating in the new local polls for the office of Chisinau general mayor. Radu noted that she was to register in the race for the local elections as independent candidate.
The new local polls will take place on 20 May 2018.
