Chisinau, 14 April /MOLDPRES/ – The acting mayor of Chisinau, Silvia Radu, aims to reform format of City Hall, "which would allow municipality to be managed by means of a modern monitoring as to reduce bureaucracy and facilitate delivery of quality services to citizens." The acting mayor of Chisinau made those statements in exclusive interview for agency.
The official said to be important that "within City Hall do not work persons being involved within corrupt or inefficient schemes."
"For one year, we can undertake a structural reform and implement certain systems that would allow transparency and efficiency into management of City Hall. It is needed to simplify actual format, created artificially in recent decade. Now, there are funds in the City Hall, but they are managed inefficiently. I think that during four months since I have been interim mayor of Chisinau, I have proved that reform began. We need a modern management to reduce bureaucracy and facilitate delivery of quality services to citizens," said Silvia Radu.
The interim mayor noted that a number of important things could be accomplished within a year mandate for inhabitants of Moldovan capital. "The one – year mandate is very short, so only concrete things can be promised, such as launching change process of lifts, setting up schools and kindergartens, ensuring transparency and discipline within City Hall and implementing new IT systems. We also want Chisinau to become a cultural city where fairs and festivals will be organised to promote capital of Moldova on an international level," said interim mayor.
At start of 2018, leadership of City Hall announced to start a contest for several chief positions within some departments, and previously acting mayor had stated intentions to reform more structures of City Hall and dismiss heads of municipal enterprises that would not face requirements.
