Orthodox Christians celebrate Memorial Easter in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/ – The Orthodox Christians celebrate Memorial Easter on 15 – 16 April. On these days, people go to cemeteries, where they give sorrow to souls of those ones who passed away.
They say that saints of this holiday are believed to be among first people on Earth. The most important concerns of praise are prayers and fasting for the living ones.
On Memorial Easter, people are used to giving red eggs, cake and paste to relatives, relations and needy people, but also to put flowers on graves.
According to the Chisinau city hall’s information and media communication service, on Memorial Easter, it will be provided free transport to cemetry Sf. Lazar. Similarly, some other localities will be offered free transport to city's cemeteries. At the same time, over 1,200 parking lots for private cars will be available in adjacent areas of cemetry Sf. Lazar in Chisinau. Another 600 parking places were identified and marked on several portions of street Doina. The transport circulation will be stopped, with exception of public transport, on street Doina, section between street Socoleni and main entrance to cemetry Sf. Lazar.
In the two days, more than 3,000 policemen will ensure public order and supervise road traffic, while number of patrol teams to and from Chisinau will be doubled.
Over 600 rescuers and firefighters will also provide fire safety.
Meteorologists announced the weather of Memorial Easter. These days, thermal values in Moldova will be 20 – 25ºC during daytime and 05 – 10ºC at night.
