Petrol price slightly drops, diesel price increases in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 April /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today established a ceiling selling price for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol at 18.46 lei for one litre and for diesel – at 16.44 lei per one litre, for the period 18 April - 1 May.

The reference petrol price for the next two weeks is by 0.01 lei lower than earlier, while the diesel price grew by 0.19 lei, after its price had increased by 0.52 lei for one litre on the previous period. The new prices for petrol and diesel will enter into force at midnight and will be in force starting from 18 April till 1 May. Operators will not have right sell fuels by retail at higher prices than the ones set by ANRE.    

Today’s Brent oil barrel’s quotation is of 71.33 dollars for one barrel, slightly dropping against the quotations registered in the opening of the exchanges, after it had reached the highest level in the last four years last week – 73 dollars. The oil’s price grew in the wake of the tensions in the Middle East. International experts said that it was for the first time after the “Arab spring”, when the political factor had such a strong influence on the segment of raw materials.      

The Reuters Agency explained the reason for the prices’ increase in the opening of the exchanges by the fact that there were fears as to possible interruptions in deliveries of oil, because of the worsening of the conflict in the Middle East, introduction of new sanctions by the USA against Iran and a continuous cut in the oil price in Venezuela. On the other hand, a quick increase of the oil production is recorded in the United States at the expense of shale gas.    

Two weeks ago, when ANRE established reference prices for fuels for 4-17 April, the quotation of the Brent oil barrel was of 67.89 dollars for one barrel.
