Chisinau, 17 April /MOLDPRES/ - Two cases of intoxication have been signaled and monitored by inspectors of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) on the days when the Memorial Easter was marked in Moldova.
The first case was recorded in the southern Cahul district, where 14 persons were intoxicated, including a two-year-old child. The intoxication took place at a picnic in open air, in which 26 people participated. Immediately after the case had been signaled, the people hit received the proper medical assistance at the district hospital and were discharged from hospital.
Inspectors from the Cahul-based ANSA subdivision went on the spot, where they investigated the circumstances of the case and drew samples from products consumed at the concerned party. The traceability and origin of the food products was established and laboratory exams are to set the inconsistent products.
The second case occurred in the southern Comrat district, where currently 19 persons are intoxicated and hospitalized. Preliminary investigations show that the intoxication was triggered by the consumption of food products cooked two days earlier. The case is under investigation; an epidemiological inquiry was started, with drawing samples and their examination in laboratories.
ANSA inspectors continue monitoring the situation and are to come up with additional information during time. At the same time, a press release of the Agency shows that these two large-scale cases were triggered by the fact of “non-observance of the recommendations and warnings issued by ANSA before the holidays.”
