Family physicians to fill in less forms in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 April /MOLDPRES/ -Family physicians will fill in less forms than so far, the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry said today.

According to a press release issued by the ministry, the amendment will allow de-bureaucratizing the primary medical assistance and optimize it.   

Also, by this measure, authorities are set to use more rationally the time planned for consultation and improvement of communication between the doctor and patient. At the same time, decision-makers are willing to ensure a fair access and enhance the efficiency and quality of the medial services provided to patients.   

Thus, the primary medical institutions will have to present quarterly only the fulfillment of the performance indexes at the following categories: prevention, early discovery and supervision of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, pre-cancer states and cancer, tuberculosis, data on pregnant women and children.

By getting this data, the ministry aims at improving the quality of medical services provided, early discovering of diseases and supervising patients sick with chronic diseases on an outpatient basis.    

Also, the ministry intends to continue activities of de-bureaucratizing the work of the family physician through the implementation of the electronic medical card and the electronic certificate of medical leave, etc.
