Tenders under Good Roads for Moldova programme started

Chisinau, 18 April /MOLDPRES/- The process of selecting the economic operators that will repair roads under the Good Roads for Moldova programme has been launched. The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure announces that bids submitted to four auctions out of the 35 planned were opened.
Twelve bids were submitted for the road renovation works in Briceni, Basarabeasca, Dondușeni and Drochia districts. The offers of the economic agents were opened under the supervision of the State Road Administration (ASD).
The Good Roads for Moldova programme provides for the organization of a single tender procedure for each district, covering all road sectors in the administrative-territorial unit and all sources of financing. Contracts between selected operators and ASD will be signed in May.
According to the information, three bids have been submitted for the periodic maintenance and repair of public roads in Briceni district. Their value is from 31.8 million to 34 million lei. Three economic operators submitted their offer for road repairs in Basarabeasca district. Their value ranges from 9.21 million to 9.79 million. In Donduseni – three economic agents showed interest to renovate roads. In Drochia district the offers of the three economic operators are between 46.24 million lei and 48.1 million lei. All economic agents who have submitted their offers, indicated that the term of works will be four months.
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici urged the economic agents specialized in road construction and repair to participate in tenders organized in all the districts of the country. At the same time, he warned ASD to fit within the set terms, so that road repair and construction works start without delay and be of high quality.
The programme provides for the restoration of about 1,200 km of roads that will cover nearly 1,200 localities. The total amount of investments will be about 1.6 billion lei. The money will be allocated from the road fund – 500 million lei and from the state budget – 1,100 million lei. Road repair works will start in mid-May.
