Chisinau hosts first Moldovan – Czech Green Energy Forum

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ – The first Moldovan – Czech Forum dedicated to development of the green energy sector was held in Chisinau today. The platform for cooperation and exchange of experience with relevant active Czech participants within biomass energy was launched at the event.
A successful outcome of the Forum is the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation of Czech Biomass Association and Biomass Energy Cluster in Moldova. The document sets out major areas and forms of cooperation between two parties. "The internationalisation of activities by means exchange of experience and implementation of joint projects is a new step in development of biofuels’ sector in Moldova, and this is one of our priorities," said head of Biomass Energy Cluster, Vladimir Bragaru.
The Biomass Energy Cluster was created in 2017 by support of Energy and Biomass Project and has 23 members now: private companies, public authorities, research institutions, universities and associations active in the green energy sector.
"Moldova plans to use agricultural waste to generate heat and electricity. The Czech Republic has a rich experience in using biomass for energy purposes, and Czech companies have necessary technologies. This context can create fruitful synergy and be a good start for fruitful collaboration," said CEO of BEZK in Czech Republic, Pavel Činčera. Also, Czech companies presented their portfolio in promoting green technologies on European market: biogas plants, electricity and heat generation, solid biofuel production lines, biomass thermal power plants, etc.
The Forum was initiated by BEZK jointly with Energy and Biomass Project, funded by EU and implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The project is in its stage II and has a budget €9.4 million.
