Model milk producing farm to be set up in Moldovan town in partnership with Belarus

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ - A model milk producing farm will be created in the Maximovca village, central Anenii Noi district. The zoo-technical complex will be set up with the participation of partners from Belarus and will take over the best practices implemented in this country. The stake is to increase also in Moldova the productivity of milk to a level similar to the one got by Belarusian farmers, i.e. an yearly average of almost 7,000 litres of milk for a cow, twice as much against the one registered at present, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Also, Moldovan farmers will have possibility to assimilate Belarusian technologies of maintaining cows, producing fodder, as well as organic fertilizers. The subject was discussed at a meeting of the Chisinau and Minsk delegations today.
“Last year, on a visit to Belarus, I saw such a farm and we want to take over positive experiences. Belarusian specialists have already been in Moldova, so that this project is advancing,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said at a meeting with the delegation from Belarus.
The Belarusian side will put at the disposal of Moldovan farmers also technologies of producing high productivity biological material. This will allow providing the sector with high-quality biological material and reducing the acquisition costs almost thrice.
The project’s concept is to be given final touches in three weeks. The farm from the Maximovca village has earlier been technological and experimental station at the Scientific and Practical Institute of Biotechnologies in Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine; yet, for almost three years, it has not been used. The placement of the farm nearby the Institute will allow scientists carrying out specialized researches based on a modern farm.
Among the fields of common interest in the agricultural sector, the sides also emphasized intention to export maize seeds, fruits and vegetables to Belarus.
