Moldovan, American officials broach cooperation, reforms

Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/- The issues of the bilateral political dialogue and the US assistance to the country’s reform process were discussed at a meeting between Foreign and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and US Ambassador to Chisinau James Pettit, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.
Ulianovschi highlighted the active bilateral political dialogue between Moldova and the United States of America and the existence of possibilities to boost it in the near future. In this context, the Moldovan official reiterated the interest in strengthening Moldovan-American cooperation, including multilateral plan.
The sides assessed the achievements in preventing and combating human trafficking in Moldova. They pointed out the mutual interest in boosting the Moldovan-American dialogue on the matter. In this context, Ulianovschi approached the main results of the meeting of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, held at MAEIE.
The Moldovan official appreciated the technical assistance provided by the US authorities via the US Agency for International Development, including the USAID programme for structural reforms in Moldova, launched in January 2018.
