Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/ - Seven service flats were provided to families of employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) today.

Attending the event were Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan and IGSU Head Mihail Harabagiu.

PM Pavel Filip said that another 47 families were to receive apartments in late 2019, when the block of flats will be made available for living, for which the construction works are to start soon.

“We thank rescuers and firemen for courage and devotion. This is more than a profession, as they forget about fear and intervene promptly in emergency situations. We know well all problems you face. We want you to remain and work at home; for this, it is necessary that we undertake concrete things; therefore, we have launched the First Home programme. At present, we focus on the second stage of the project, aimed at the employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and civil servants, as the state will pay 50 per cent of the dwelling’s cost,” Filip said.

For his part, Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan noted that there were another two projects providing for the construction of blocks of flats for Interior Ministry employees. “Over 400 IGSU employees have not dwellings in the Chisinau municipality. Today, there is a special day for us, as we can present more concrete actions. To this end, we thank the government for support and we are confident that we will further carry out more important projects,” Jizdan added.

“This is an important and moving day for employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. I want to wholeheartedly congratulate the young families who benefited from apartments. This is an extremely necessary project, due to which young people will remain in Moldova,” IGSU Head Mihail Harabagiu said.

According to provisions of the public-private partnership contract, IGSU employees are to receive 54 one- and two-chamber service flats in all, as well as a sports hall on the ground floor. The dwellings with another 47 apartments will be constructed on the Gheorghe Asachi Street 69/2 from Chisinau.
