Moldovan foreign minister attends high-level meeting of UN General Assembly on sustainable peacebuilding

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/- Foreign and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi attends a high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly on peacebuilding and sustaining peace and the Economic and Social Forum (ECOSOC) on financing for development, in New York on 23-27 April 2018, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.

Ulianovschi will deliver a speech on Moldova’s stance on sustainable peace-building, and as Head of the UNCTAD Trade and Development Board, will report on the work of the intergovernmental expert group on development financing UNCTAD.

The ECOSOC high-level forum (FFD) is one of the largest global diplomatic events in the development cooperation, and according to the mandate, the results of the intergovernmental deliberations within FFD will be presented as recommendations to the High Political Forum for the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. The FFD will also host a high-level meeting of the ECOSOC Council with the Bretton Woods institutions – World Trade Organisation, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNCTAD) etc.

Ulianovschi’s agenda in New York will also include bilateral meetings with counterparts from other states, UN Deputy Secretary General, UN General Assembly President, ECOSOC President and other UN officials.
