Moldovan deputy premier asks German authorities to increase financial support to develop national projects

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca has asked the German authorities to increase financial support for developing projects in Moldova. The official made statements to this effect following a working visit to Germany.  

At a news conference, Iurie Leanca noted that he had had more meetings with German officials. At the meetings, the sides discussed the Moldovan-German political, social and economic relations, problems and challenges of the regional security, present stage of the Moldova-EU ties and Moldova’s European future. 

“We spoke about the development of the bilateral dialogue, attraction of investments and the Moldovan citizens staying in Germany. I thanked for the support provided through multiple projects on restoration of kindergartens, construction of aqueducts and involvement in the sectors of medicine, human rights and civil society,” Leanca said.    

The official said that he had discussed the importance to enhance the German political support for Moldova’s rapprochement with the European Union. “An important subject was also Moldova’s European agenda. In this respect, I found out openness on behalf of the German authorities. We spoke also about the regional security and the authorities said we may count on Germany’s support against external attacks,” Iurie Leanca noted.

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca paid an official visit to Germany on 17-19 April. So far, the two states have signed 65 treaties regulating practically all the cooperation sectors: political, commercial and economic, legal, financial, transport, mutual promotion and protection of investments, technical cooperation, culture and science, etc.
