Vehicles from Transnistrian region to receive neutral registration plates, farmers have access to farmlands

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - The owners of vehicles from the Transnistrian region will receive neutral registration plates and will be allowed to the international traffic as of 1 September 2018, under a decision signed by representatives of Chisinau and Tiraspol in Bender today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The transport means will have neutral registration plates, with matriculation numbers made up of three letters and three figures, as well as a technical passport, in line with requirements of the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. The decision regards only private people.
The re-registration of the Transnistrian vehicles will be made on demand, at two offices in the Tiraspol and Rabnita cities, due to be set up with the assistance of the OSCE Mission in Moldova. A vehicle will not be able to have a neutral and a Transnistrian registration plate simultaneously. The residents from the left bank of Dniester ruling to preserve their Transnistrian registration plate will be able to travel with the concerned transport means only in Moldova.
Also, following negotiations held between the sides, the access of farmers from the Dubasari district was re-established to their lands placed beyond the Tiraspol-Rabnita highway.
The unconditional access of farmlands’ owners was got for a period of 20 years, with the issuance, on the immediately next period, of certificates needed for tilling the lands and starting using them as of 1 August 2018.
Beginning with 2014, the owners no longer had access to their lands; earlier, this right had been established annually.
