Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved an action plan on the implementation of the strategy of development of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector for 2018-2020. The document comprises actions on the regulatory framework, improving access to financing, developing the human capital, facilitating the development of SMEs in regions.
The SMEs sector, which accounts for 98.7 per cent of all enterprises working in the national economy, is of special importance and provides the employment of 61.2 per cent of all national economy’s employees.
The action plan approved today is the third one after the launch, in 2012, of the strategy of development of the small and medium-sized enterprises sector for the years 2012-2020. The working out of the plan was preceded by an assessment of the SMEs’ sector, as well as of the results of implementation of the actions scheduled for the 2015-2017 years.
Most actions of the strategy deal with the creation of a friendly environment, promotion of the entrepreneurial culture, in order to back SMEs and ensure social cohesion. The concerned actions will be implemented, to a great extent, in the public sector, in cooperation with private sector’s representatives.
The Economics and Infrastructure Ministry said that the successful implementation of the strategy for 2018-2020 would contribute to creating opportunities of development and adaptation of advanced technologies, occupying profitable market niches for small- and medium-sized enterprises, encouraging investments, having as source residents’ savings. Also, among the expected goals, there is the attraction of an important part of dismissed labour force, stimulation of regional and rural development.
