Moldovan government increases guaranteed minimum salary in real sector by MDL 230 per month

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ – The minimum guaranteed salary in real sector (in enterprises, organisations, institutions with financial autonomy, regardless of type of ownership and form of legal organisation) will increase from 01 May 2018 by MDL 230 to MDL 2,610 per month, according to a resolution approved by the Government today. In recent six years, the guaranteed minimum wage was increased by MDL 1,310 and doubled.
According to legislation in force, if economic units apply tariff or non – tariff system of salary, monthly salary of an employee can not be less than guaranteed minimum salary in real sector, established by the Government, after consultation with social partners.
There was taken into account yearly minimum annual growth of consumer price index and rate of increase of labour productivity at national level 9.6 per cent at establishing guaranteed minimum wage.
The minimum guaranteed wage in real sector has risen from MDL 1,200, set in 2012 to MDL 2,610 in 2018, as a result of stronger growth, on average by 12.6 per cent over previous three years.
According to the Government's decision, there was set minimum guaranteed amount MDL 15.44 per hour or MDL 2,610 per month, calculated for a full – time work programme of 169 hours per month.
