As many as 2,500 entrepreneurs to develop entrepreneurial skills in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 2,500 entrepreneurs, of whom about 200 migrants and their first-degree relatives, will annually be trained to   develop their entrepreneurial skills. This fact is provided for in an action plan for 2028-2020 for the implementation of the strategy of development of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector’s development, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

“This is an important project, as, in terms of statistics, the number of small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova accounts for 98.7 per cent of all enterprises and provide jobs to more than 61 per cent of all employees from our country,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said.

At the same time, the state will teach economic agents how to find foreign business partners and will increase the number of entrepreneurs informed about the legal framework which regulates the SMEs’ work.   

Also, the cabinet will back women in business. Thus, each year, 100 newly created businesses by women will be financed with small grants and another ten businesses with export potential – with grants for big investments. These actions will allow creating 200 jobs annually.    

At the same time, entrepreneurs will benefit from financial guarantees for the creation and development of businesses. This year, the SMEs will have access to 197 financial guarantees. 

The action plan also sees the inclusion of contents about the “green economy” in the lyceum education syllabus. Also, decision-makers will work out a document of policies on the development of the ecosystem for digital innovation and backing startups.
