Pupils, students to receive higher scholarships in Moldova

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ – The government indexes the scholarships of pupils and students by 5 per cent starting 01 January 2018. It was approved a resolution on it today at the Executive meeting to stimulate pupils and students with academic achievements, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The scholarships will be increased for students in technical vocational education, undergraduate and master students, doctoral students, post – doctoral students, clinical and resident doctors. Thus, the students who received MDL 800 so far will receive MDL 840 and for post – secondary technical vocational students the scholarship will increase from MDL 630 to MDL 660.

Similarly, first year doctoral students which benefited of MDL 1,050 will get MDL 1,100, as do doctors residing in the 1st year. The Republic's scholarship rises from MDL 1,385 to MDL 1,455 and the Government scholarship – from MDL 1155 to MDL 1210.

The increases will contribute to growing attractiveness and competitiveness of higher education and technical institutions, as well as strengthening of vocational education system in Moldova.
