Moldova, Georgia interested in developing bilateral relations in all sectors

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/- The current stage of Moldovan-Georgian relations and deepening solutions were discussed by Moldovan and Georgian Foreign Ministers Tudor Ulianovschi and Mikheil Janelidze at a meeting in New York, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.
Ulianovschi and Janelidze have reviewed a lot of issues on the agenda of the bilateral political dialogue, and expressed willingness to boost the exchange of visits at both high-level and experts of institutions of the two countries on the sidelines of various projects and programmes. In this context, the sides found that the political dialogue between the two countries has been on the rise for the last time, as an example being the parliamentary and governmental discussions. According to the ministers, the GUAM Summit at the level of prime ministers, due in Chisinau on 20-21 June 2018, is a good opportunity to deepen the bilateral relations, to initiate new direct cooperation projects between the two states, and within the organization.
The officials found the existence of effective bilateral cooperation in the European integration sector, and agreed on boosting the exchange of experience in this dimension, especially within the Eastern Partnership, as well as implementing the association agreements signed with the EU by both states, the DCFTA, etc. Ulianovschi said that in the context of the reform initiated by the Filip government, the Chisinau authorities are interested in taking over Georgia’s experience in implementing reforms in the fields of home affairs, justice and defense, as well as in deepening cooperation in these areas.
For his part, Mikheil Janelidze said that his country is interested in expanding and deepening the bilateral relations with Moldova in all sectors, including the trade, economic, social, cultural etc. “We express our interest in further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries in investment via the implementation of mutual investment projects and the creation of joint stock companies, the diversification of trade, etc.” he said.
The two officials also approached latest developments at regional and international level, and agreed to continue the mutual support within the international organizations.
