Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/- Firefighters and rescuers will assess fire safety in over 1,000 socially-cultural destinations in the country, including cinemas. The first checks took place yesterday in a cinema in the capital.
Press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Liliana Puscasu said that the firefighters entered at the beginning and end of the cinema session to make a brief training of people how to react correctly in case of fire.
“Employees of IGSU have explained in detail why it is important for people to be alert to exit signs and doors that serve as escape routes. Moreover, the specialists urged people to keep their calm in a risky situation and keep their children around. If the room is flooded with smoke, people have to cover their face and nose with the clothes at hand,” Puscasu said.
So far, over 500 buildings have already been checked by firefighters.
The inspections of the recreational objectives in the country take place at the request of Prime Minister Pavel Filip in the context of the prevention of fires of a similar magnitude to the one produced on 25 March in a shopping centre in Kemerovo city, Russia. The fire took the life of 64 people, most children.
