Decision on minors without parental care to be published in Official Journal of Moldova

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/- Children who are temporarily or permanently without parental care will receive this year a fixed amount of money every day, which amounts to over 4,000 lei annually. A decision in this regard will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 27 April.
The document aims at children who are temporarily and permanently without parental care, placed in social services or guardianship/curatorship and are enrolled in an educational institution.
Under the decision, from the fifth form until the age of 18 years, the children will get 10 lei each day, 100 lei on birthday and 70 lei on holidays. The allowance will be increased annually on 1 April, depending on the price increase during the previous year.
The financial aid will be granted from 1 January 2018. Therefore, 10.4 million lei was provided in the state budget. In all, 2,600 children will benefit from the allowance.
The control over the enforcement of the decision will be ensured by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
The document was worked out in the context of the implementation of the government action plan for 2016-2018, as well as the action plan for implementation of the strategy for child protection for 2014-2020.
