Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/ - ‘’Once the project begun, we should increase the speed, so that people are able to enjoy the benefits of the meal vouchers as soon as possible,’’ Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said at a meeting with meal vouchers’ operators today.

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the sides discussed the stage of preparation for running the system of meal vouchers. The two operators Up and Edenred said they were prepared and had a good cooperation with the future partners. The operators thanked Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, the law’s author, for the legislative framework in line with the international standards and the openness of the authorities for the implementation of the meal vouchers’ system.

For his part, the speaker thanked the operators for having entered Moldova’s market and showed confidence that the number of beneficiaries of meal vouchers would progressively increase till late 2018. According to Candu, this instrument is to be not only support for employees from Moldova, but is also to gradually reduce the practice of envelope salaries.

”Up Moldova is ready to issue meal vouchers. We notice expectation and impatience on behalf of more actors on ground. Many enterprises have already promised or negotiated this extra-salary benefit with employees. Hundreds of small merchants and big networks of shops are members of the network of acceptation and expect this additional flow in their turnover,’’ the public relations director for Eurasia at Group Up, Veselin Penchev, said.

”Edenred is prepared to issue meal vouchers on paper and is to introduce also meal vouchers on cards in the portfolio of products soon. The local team started the process of pre-sale, developing a network of acceptation of more than 750 locations where beneficiaries of vouchers will be able to use them,’’ the director general of Edenred Romania and Moldova, Dana Sintejudean, said.

The participants in the meeting discussed technical aspects of implementation of the system and solutions for the meal vouchers to be issued in the shortest time.

The draft law on meal vouchers, worked out by the parliament speaker, is aimed at motivating the wage earners, increasing employees’ incomes, ensuring qualitative nourishment and stimulating the economy. The vouchers can be used only on the purpose of buying food products, excluding alcoholic drinks and tobacco articles.
