Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - The municipal enterprise Apa-Canal Chisinau got a profit of 9.5 million lei in 2017. The director of the institution, Veronica Herta, made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
According to the management of Apa-Canal Chisinau, the greatest achievements for the last year are the avoidance of bankruptcy and the unlocking of foreign assistance programmes.
“In 2016, the institution had losses worth 81 million lei. Last year, we recorded a profit of 9.5 million lei, which represents the best result in the last five years. This fact is due to the efficient management of the enterprise. An important factor is the de-blocking of development programmes, which led to investments and the signing of more contracts,” Herta said.
The official noted that, in 2017, decision-makers had managed to buy more modern equipments. “It is about 30 vehicles and trailers, 13 excavators and other equipment. Thanks to their purchasing, spending was cut for the mechanisms rented, the intervention time was shortened and the consumption of electric energy decreased. Also, we managed to rehabilitate more segments of sewerage network and to contract a firm which is to deal with the rehabilitation of the water-purifying station. The works will be carried out during three years, with money provided by EU. Thus, installations will be constructed for the treatment of water and mud,” Veronica Herta said.
As to the plans for this year, Herta said that, in early next June, a dehydration spin for reducing the volume of mud will be presented, with the equipment bought with the institution’s money. “We are set to rehabilitate the aqueduct and sewerage network, shorten the intervention time, improve the performance indicators, implement the electronic invoicing and open a single window for consumers,” Herta added.
