Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/ - A new trolley bus route to the Sangera town, Chisinau municipality, was launched today.
At the event, the acting head of the Chisinau city hall’s transport department, Vitalie Butucel, said that the decision to launch a new trolley bus line was taken after more requests had been received on behalf of the residents from Sangera and ones from apartment blocks on the Muncesti highway, who live on the segment where trolley buses do not move.
“Five transport units with accumulators will initially move on the 31st route. The price of one trolley bus is of 200,000 euros and their overall cost is one million euros – money earmarked from the municipal budget. The transport means have been assembled in Chisinau,” Butucel said.
For his part, the acting mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, said that “the number of electric trolley buses due to move on this route is to be increased.”
The 31st trolley bus route has the itinerary 31 August 1989 – Sangera town.
At the same time, the local authorities said that currently costs were assessed for the launch of a new trolley bus route to the Ialoveni town.
At present, there are 24 trolley bus lines in Chisinau.
