Moldovan parliament speaker, entrepreneurs from two southern districts discuss development priorities

Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu has discussed priority actions of Moldova’s development with mayors, local councilors and entrepreneurs of the Cahul and Cantemir districts, southern Moldova. The event took place at a today’s visit by the speaker to the Cahul city, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The parliament speaker referred to infrastructure projects underway, unveiled opportunities for the business environment, social programmes and approached issues of the work of local public authorities.
According to the speaker, one of the ambitious projects underway was the one of restoring roads in each settlement of Moldova. “The works in the Cahul and Cantemir districts’ settlements are to be started in 1-2 weeks and will end in next autumn. Also, the belt road of the Comrat city and the highway to Giurgiulesti will be reconstructed,” the speaker said.
Andrian Candu discussed with local authorities and business people the effects of the reforms and the first benefits offered by the simplification of the procedures in carrying out the entrepreneurial activity, eliminating the excessive bureaucracy, cutting the number of institutions with control duties. Also, the sides tackled the issue of labour force and actions undertaken to stimulate, fill and maintain professionals in Moldova. In this respect, the sides analyzed projects on meal vouchers, First Home programme, subsidization by the state of the creation of new jobs and the Chisinau Arena project.
The participants approached diverse local problems and showed interest in export and new sales markets, investment projects and actions to stimulate employees of the local authorities.
Attending the meeting were MPs, the leadership of the Cahul and Cantemir districts, mayors, local councilors from most settlements of the two districts, business people from the region, representatives of the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, Agency for Investments and Payments in Agriculture, other governmental organizations. The officials answered questions and are to come up with solutions to each of the problems identified.
The parliament speaker today is on a working visit to the Cahul city. The speaker will give a public lecture at the B.P. Hasdeu State University from this city, will inspect the works of construction of the local theatre, will visit the primary school A. Donici and will attend the inauguration of the section of the perinatal centre of the Cahul district hospital.
