Moldova's Embassy in United Arab Emirates to be inaugurated on 10 May

Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi will pay a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 8-10 May, within which the Embassy of Moldova in this country will be opened, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
The working agenda of Minister Ulianovschi, besides the ceremony of inauguration of the diplomatic mission, scheduled for 10 May in capital Abu Dhabi at 19:30, includes a string of bilateral meetings with the members of the UAE government, high-ranking officials from the Emirates Dubai and Abu Dhabi, participation in a Moldova-Emirates Economic Forum , as well as a meeting with the Moldovan fellow countrymen settled in this country. At the meetings, the sides will tackle aspects on the extension of the political dialogue between Moldova and the United Arab Emirates, boosting of the commercial, economic, cultural, juridical relations, etc.
The diplomatic relations between Moldova and the United Arab Emirates were established on 21 December 1995, with seven bilateral treaties signed at present. Data by the National Statistics Bureau shows that, in 2017, the Moldovan exports to UAE amounted to 2.47 million dollars (against 788.22 thousand dollars in 2016) and the imports stood at 1.89 million dollars (against 1.08 million dollars in 2016).
