Moldovan parliament speaker discusses road traffic security with pupils from southern city

Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu discussed the need to observe the traffic rules and urged pupils and teachers not to haste in traffic, thus endangering their lives, at a meeting with pupils and teachers of the Alexandru Donici primary school from the southern Cahul city, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.     

The parliament speaker was impressed to discover a panel dedicated to the traffic security rules on school’s corridors. In his capacity of road traffic safety ambassador, Candu thanked teachers for the attention paid to this subject.   . 

At the same time, the speaker appreciated the model of inclusive education of the institution. ‘’I am glad that, along with colleagues from the parliament, we were able to provide support for the purchasing of the teaching materials for pupils, due to the charity action organized on the eve of the Easter holidays,’’ Andrian Candu said.  

During this discussion, pupils were curious to learn about the family, children and relations of the parliament speaker with them. Pupils put numerous questions and asked for support to arrange a sports hall at the school. Also, they accepted an invitation by the speaker to pay a visit to the parliament’s headquarters in late May.  

Also today, the parliament speaker inspected works on the construction of the new building of the Cahul Theatre and discussed with its actors. According to decision--makers, the project is financed by the government of Romania and the works are to be completed in early 2019.   

The last visit of the day was paid to the Cahul district hospital, where the section of the perinatal centre was inaugurated after restoration. The new maternity house was endowed with new equipment, has a capacity of reception of about 2,000 births annually and is the second of the regional maternity houses in Moldova.   

Andrian Candu paid a working visit to the Cahul city today. The speaker met authorities and entrepreneurs from the Cahul and Cantemir districts. He gave a lecture at the B.P. Hasdeu State University from Cahul, inspected the works on construction of the Cahul theatre, discussed with pupils and teachers of the primary school from the settlement and attended the inauguration of the section of the perinatal centre of the Cahul district hospital.
