German company interested in development of secondary international airport in Moldova

Chisinau, 07 May /MOLDPRES/ – The development possibilities of International Airport in Marculesti, with involvement of international concerns, were discussed today by Prime Minister Pavel Filip at meeting with Member of the Frankfurt Airport Administration Board, former Minister of Economic Affairs, Transport and Regional Development of Hessen, Germany, Dieter Posch, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials noted that potential of Marculesti International Airport could be exploited by implementing a professional management system. In this respect, German side manifested desire to provide necessary experience to reform airport and develop air cargo and passenger services at highest level. As a result, airport will become a business hub capable of ensuring connection between CIS and EU, including due to its favourable geographical position.
The PM has outlined that Government is interested in the realisation of the project and will continue to maintain direct communication with potential investors, especially on topics related to development of business infrastructure and increase of Moldova's economic capacity. In this context, Pavel Filip referred to efforts made by Executive to improve investment climate and simplify relationship between business environment and state.
In other range of ideas, sides have mentioned importance of collaboration within knowledge transfer and exchange of experience between teachers from Moldova and Germany. Especially, it was appreciated contribution of German part to Engineering College in Straseni, where, according to dual training model, skilled staff will be trained for companies in Moldova, mainly in automotive sector.
