Meteorologists extends yellow code of exceptional fire hazard in Moldova

Chisinau, 08 May /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has extended the Yellow Code of exceptional fire hazard until 14 May on major area of Moldova.

According to the SHS’s information and media communication service, up to this date, in the centre and southern zones of the country, it will maintain exceptional fire hazard (class V) of natural character and fire threat of forest strips and crops.

The rescuers and foresters warn that it is possible to ignite agricultural land, forage land, forest vegetation territories, housing and household annexes.

These services require public to avoid usage of open fire near dwellings, household annexes and feedstocks on land covered by dry vegetation, especially when located near forests, plantations or high risk fire objects. Also, it is recommended to restrict works setting favourable conditions for production of bonfires by volatile substances or excessive overheating.

According to SHS's data, there are expected up 20 – 25ºC throughout country in upcoming few days, isolated rains with electrical discharges.
