Over 3,500 policemen to ensure public order in Moldova on Victory Day, Europe Day

Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/ - More than 3,500 policemen, carabineers and private agents will ensure the public order during the actions dedicated to the Victory Day and Europe Day, marked on 9 May. The head of the Public Security General Department at the General Police Inspectorate, Marin Maxian, today made statements to this effect at a news conference.
According to Maxian, on this period, the number of policemen, due to patrol in leisure and entertainment zones, will be doubled.
“On 8 and 9 May, over 270 public events will be organized in the country. In this respect, we recommend that the citizens are responsible and minimize the risks. We urge them to take care of the personal possessions, in order to prevent thefts in public places, avoid dark zones, not leave their vehicles in dark places, start the alarm and not preserve valuable goods in cars. Parents are obliged to take care of their children and not leave them without supervision. Upon leaving their homes, owners are urged not to forget to lock their doors and activate the guards system. At the events, we recommend that citizens do not make abuse of alcohol and do not trigger conflicts and the owners of guns should leave them at home in safe places,” Maxian said.
For his part, the head of the National patrol Inspectorate, Liviu Baziuc, said that on 8 and 9 May, the number of patrol teams would be increased.
Also, representatives of the police said that, during the events on the Great National Assembly Square, the consumption of alcohol or holding dangerous objects would be banned.
The Victory Day and the Europe Day are marked on 9 May. More topic-related events will be organized throughout Moldova on this occasion. At the same time, the day is declared day-off for budgetary employees.
