European MP appreciates progress of Moldova

Chisinau, 08 May /MOLDPRES/ – The reform agenda of Moldova was discussed at the meetings of MEP Victor Bostinaru with Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, head of National delegation at PACE, Marian Lupu, as well as representatives of civil society, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

Andrian Candu reconfirmed commitment of Parliament to implementing reforms agreed with development partners and expected by citizens of Moldova.

Also, Andrian Candu welcomed maintenance of Moldova on list of priority countries which have democratic support on behalf of European Parliament. The SP noted constructive messages expressed by European officials at 4th meeting of the Association Council of Moldova – EU, which took place in Brussels on 03 May 2018.

At his turn, Marian Lupu referred to initiatives promoted for repositioning of Moldova within cooperation platform of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, placing more emphasis on countries that implement Association Agreements with EU. As a result, it was created ad hoc working group for Eastern Partnership countries, which signed Association Agreements with EU and it was held a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament on the Eastern Partnership.

The members of working group on Better Media Legislation, academics, political analysts and members of the National Council for Participation were present at the meeting with civil society.

MEP Victor Bostinaru appreciated the progress made by Moldova on European integration path and encouraged authorities to continue implementing reform agenda.
