Moldovan SP commemorates war heroes

Chisinau, 09 May /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, has laid flowers and kept a minute of silence at Memorial Complex Eternity in memory of heroes of the Second World War (WWII) and those who fell for the Independence of Motherland, today. The Speaker of Parliament laid flower wreaths to monuments of Unknown Heroes and Mother in Grief, as signs of appreciation and gratitude, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The Speaker of Parliament said that on this day we commemorate the memory of all those who fought both against fascism and for the future, freedom and independence. "We want peace and we want mothers not to tear. We work for it, we increase welfare of people and strive for reintegration of Moldova", said Andrian Candu. According to him, two celebrations – Victory Day and Europe Day – strengthen peace on the continent.
The ceremony dedicated to Victory Day and the commemoration of passed away heroes for Independence of Motherland were attended by MPs, ministers, representatives of diplomatic corps, employees of force structures, veterans, guests and residents of Chisinau. The leadership of Moldova laid flowers at Eternal Fire, then retaining a minute of silence in memory of passed away heroes, during which metronome beatings and three firefighters carried out by the honour guard. There was a flower deposits at stela of Moldovan Heroes, commemorative plaques and monument of Mother in Grief.
The day of 09 May is known as the United Nations Coalition Victory Day in the Second World War (WWII), representing signing of unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, which led to ending of World War II in Europe.
