Moldovan foreign affairs minister, deputy prime minister from Emirates discuss abolition of visa regime for Moldova's citizens

Chisinau, 10 May /MOLDPRES/ - Possibility of abolishing the visa regime for Moldova’s citizens, as well as the extension of the Moldova-Emirates relations in various sectors were discussed by Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi on 9 May, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
According to the sides, the abolition of the visa regime for the Moldovan citizens will favour even more the extension of the Moldova-Emirates ties, which have recorded a significant development in all sectors in the last period. ”A telling example is also the Moldova-Emirates Business Forum, held in Dubai today, where the business environment from both states sets new partnerships, consider possibility of implementing investment projects and promoting export and import activities. The abolition of the visa regime is very important for the business environment from Moldova, as our country is interested in the promotion of goods and services both on the market of the United Arab Emirates and in the Persian Gulf region,” the Moldovan diplomacy head said. In the context, Minister Ulianovschi stressed the special interest of the business environment from Moldova to participate in the Dubai 2020 Exhibition.
For his part, the deputy prime minister from the Emirates appreciated the Moldovan authorities’ decision to open Moldova’s Embassy in the United Arab Emirates. He underlined that this would essentially contribute to boosting the Moldova-Emirates relations on all dimensions, including in the process of abolishing the visa regime.
The UAE minister welcomed the Moldovan authorities’ decision to take part in the Dubai 2020 Exhibition, noting that this would be a good occasion for the promotion of national goods, establishing new partnerships both with companies from the Emirates and from other states of the Gulf.
Tudor Ulianovschi and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan referred also to the establishment of more pronounced relations between the Interior Ministries from Moldova and UAE. This will allow taking over good practices as for the concept of “safe city” innovation programmes for the intelligent delivery of safety and security services for citizens, organization of training courses and exchange of experience in various sectors of fighting criminality and cooperation of the subdivisions with special missions.
At the meeting, the ministers exchanged opinions on collaboration in the fields of regional development, environment, culture, economy, etc. Minister Tudor Ulianovschi invited Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan to visit Moldova, in order to continue the bilateral dialogue. The UAE official accepted the invitation.
Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi pays a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on 8-10 May.
