Work books to be cancelled in Moldova as of 1 January 2019

Chisinau, 10 May /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved a decision, under which, starting from 1 January 2019, a decision on work books, approved 11 years ago, will be abrogated. Thus, these documents will be excluded from circulation.
According to the decision, the leaders of enterprises, organizations and institutions, no matter the type of property and legal form of organization, will hand to wage earners or their representatives, under signature, the work books till the date of 28 December 2018. Till the handing over of the work book, the employer will make the last note in it on the position held.
The notes in the work books, made till 1 January 2019, preserve their validity and can be used if needed.
People asking for the right to pension are to confirm in documents the length of service during all the activity. For the period till 1 January 1999, the confirmation of the length of service is made by presenting the work books in original and the copy. Starting from 15 May 2018, the National Social Insurances House begins scanning the data from the work books, in order to fill the personal accounts of social insurances as to the length of service carried out till 1 January 1999.
The information from the work books presented by the employer will be stocked in the state register of individual record of contributions.
The parliament voted for the abrogation of the law on work books in the summer of 2017.
