Moldovan decision-makers start making matrix to print ballot papers for new local polls

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ – The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has announced today that it began making matrix for printing ballot papers for new local polls on 20 May.
According to the CEC's public communication service, matrix will be made in "Tipografia Centrala" (Central Tipography) in Chisinau and destroyed immediately after ballot papers have been printed.
Interviewed by agency, head of the Communication, Public Relations and Media unit of Commission, Corneliu Pasat, said that after making matrix, it will be printed over 752,000 ballots for new local elections.
"Out of these ballots, about 474 thousand will be in Romanian and rest about 277 thousand – in Russian. The longest ballot (344 mm) will be for elections in capital, as most of candidates have registered here. A ballot print for elections in Chisinau will cost MDL 0,28, and for the other localities – MDL 0,24," said Pasat.
On 20 May, there will take place elections of new mayors in seven localities: Chisinau municipality, Balti municipality, Leuseni village and Nemteni village, Hancesti district, Volovita village, Soroca district, Jora de Mijloc village, Orhei district and Parlita commune, Ungheni district.
