Over 40 pharmacies opened in Moldova since early this year

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/- A number of 43 new pharmacies were opened in the country in the first months of this year, most of them in Chisinau.
According to data by the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, in the first months of the year, AMDM issued 85 decisions as regards licensing the pharmaceutical activity. Most decisions aim at setting up new subsidiaries, changing pharmacists and heads of subsidiary, supplementing the kind of pharmaceutical activity with the right to sell psychotropic preparations, cessation of the pharmaceutical activity, cancellation of the license, extension of the validity of the license.
Thus, in the first quarter of 2018, 43 new pharmacies were opened, including 15 under the court rulings. Most of them were founded in Chisinau (11 branches), Hancesti (7), Edinet (7), Balti (3). At the same time, 23 pharmaceutical companies in Hancesti district, Edinet, Chisinau and Balti stopped working.
In the same period, the AMDM employees rejected six requests from the economic agents to issue the activity license, as they did not meet the legal requirements.
Under the legislation in force, since October last year, AMDM fulfills its duties in the regulation of licensing pharmaceutical activity.
