Romanian Literature Days held in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/ - Over 50 writers from Moldova and Romania participate in the fourth issue of the Romanian Literature Days in Chisinau, held in Moldovan capital and Balti on 22-26 May.    

The event is organized by the Union of Publishers from Moldova, Cartier Publishing House and the National Museum of Romanian Literature from Bucharest, in partnership with the Education, Culture and Research Ministry of Moldova, National Art Museum of Moldova, Chisinau Culture Department, Moldovan State University, Alecu Russo State University from Balti, bookshop Din Centru and other culture institutions.     

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the director of Cartier publishing house, Gheorghe Erizanu, has said that the goal of the event was to promote the Romanian literature and books, as well as a viable system of values. “The idea is that the guests are those who have published valuable books in the last two years and which were awarded prizes and were in the focus of the literary critic,” Erizanu noted.    

According to Gheorghe Erizanu, book launches, readings, discussions, conferences, autograph sessions, etc. will take place within the Romanian Literature Days. The events will be held at the Cocosul Rosu (Red Cock) Workshop, National Art Museum of Moldova, Zentrum, State University of Moldova, bookshop Din Centru and Balti-based State University.   

The schedule will be opened today at 19:00, at the Cocosul Rosu Workshop, on Sciusev Street 79 with Readings & Debate.

On 23 May at 10:30, the events will continue with a meeting at the Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum; at the same time, writer Vintila Mihailescu hold give a conference titled, Why Is Romania This Way? At 11:00; book launches, readings, autograph sessions are held at the bookshop Din Centru and discussions will be held at Zentrum at 19:00.    

The Romanian Literature Days will end on 26 May at 12:00, with the launch of a book titled, Grădina de sticlă (The Glass Garden) by Tatiana Tibuleac.

Other books due to be launched during the four days are signed by Dan Lungu, Nicolae Leahu, Adrian Cibotaru, Dumitru Crudu, Vintila Mihailescu, Iulian Ciocan, Tamara Caraus, Lavinia Balulescu, Pavel Paduraru, Moni Stanila, Igor Guzun and others.  

The first issue of the Romanian Literature Days in Chisinau took place in 2010.
