Moldovan Democrats win local elections in four out of five mayoralties

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/- PDM participated in five localities for new local elections and in four won the first round. PDM deputy head Vladimir Cebotari made the statement today. He noted that the results showed that the party has strong candidates and well-established territorial organizations.
The today’s meeting was focused on the results of elections. “In four of the five localities we participated in, our mayors won the first round. I thank the residents of those villages who have given us this vote of confidence. PDM will provide all the necessary support to meet commitments and promises taken in those localities,” Cebotari said.
He noted that the local elections represent a test for the elections due to be held in autumn, as the way of organization and the outcome are based on similar principles.
On 20 May, local elections took place in seven localities in the country, including Chisinau and Balti municipalities. In six of them, mayors were elected from the first round.
