Moldovan foreign affairs minister inaugurates international exhibition of francophone fine artists

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Francophonie provides a wide range of opportunities to strengthen the bilateral relations with the foreign partners, as well as for joint and solidarity actions in the field of promoting the human rights, democracy, environmental protection, promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi today made statements to this effect at the inauguration of an international exhibition of francophone fine artists from Moldova, Finland and Romania titled, Unity in Light and Diversity in Colours and Forms, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
The Moldovan diplomacy head noted that Moldova’s accession to the Francophonie had allowed creating opportunities of cooperation and implementation of numerous projects, both in the cultural, social and education sectors. “The Francophonie is not at all the policy of a state, just as it is perceived by some people, but a big family which includes 84 states, which promote cultural diversity, defence of human rights, sustainable development and we should use at the maximum the possibilities offered by the International Organization of La Francophonie,” Minister Tudor Ulianovschi said.
In the context, Tudor Ulianovschi said that the exhibition, Unity in Light and Diversity in Colours and Forms, fits into a string of events organized in the Year of Francophonie and is aimed both at promoting Francophone fine artists and at educating citizens spiritually and culturally, as well as promoting the beauty among citizens.
Works by fine artists Ecaterina Ajder, Elena Bontea, Valentina Brâncoveanu, Vasile Botnaru, Anatol Danilișin, Elvira Cemortan-Voloșin, Iraida Ciobanu, Iurie Matei, Vasilie Medinski, Gheorghe Negru, Inga Orehova, Natalia Procop, Dumitru Peicev, Eleonora Romanescu, Anatol Rurac, Janne Numella (Finland), Aurel Stanciu and Cezar Secrieru (Romania) were displayed at the exhibition.
Representatives of the government, diplomatic missions accredited in Chisinau, management of the Francophone Regional Centre for Central and Eastern Europe, French Alliance in Moldova, painters, sculptors, art critics, etc. participated in the inauguration of the exhibition. Moldova joined the International Organization of La Francophonie at the summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Francophonie, held in Hanoi in 1997.
The exhibition is hosted by the National Ethnography and Natural History Museum till 10 June 2018.
