Young Moldovan won second place at International Science and Engineering Contest

Chisinau, 23 May /MOLDPRES/- A young man from Moldova won second place at the Intel ISEF International Science and Engineering Contest, held in the USA.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the winner is Sandu Chirita, a pupil at the B. Z. Herţli high school in Chisinau. The pupil got special prize last year at this contest.
Three pupils from Moldova participated in the competition. Chiriţa Sandu took part in the contest with the project “A Novel Approach to Call Quality Assessment Using Sequential Neural Networks”, and Artemie Mitioglo and Vladislav Mitioglo, studying at Orizont lyceum in Chisinau, participated with the project “Combating air pollution with the help of nanotechnology”.
„Intel ISEF” contest took place on 13-19 May in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. It was attended by more than 1,750 pupils from about 80 countries, including all US states. About 1,500 research projects were submitted to the competition.
