Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ - The biggest photovoltaic solar park, with a capacity of 1 MW, placed on an area of 2.5 hectares, has been inaugurated in Moldova. According to a press release by the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, the investments in the solar park amounted to about one million euros and have been made by two companies from Italy - Fly Ren Energy Group and Consulcesi Tech.
The solar park was placed in the Bacioi village, Chisinau municipality, and is made up of 4000 photovoltaic batteries. An installation of 1 MW can generate, during one calendar year, enough electric energy to cover the annual consumption of a number of about 350 families. According to data by the ministry, there are 52 photovoltaic generation units of different dimensions in Moldova, with a cumulative capacity of 3.92 MW and which are set on an area of more than 30 hectares.
“I am happy to attend the inauguration of the biggest photovoltaic solar park from Moldova. The first reason is the professional one – a great achievement for Moldova in the energy sector. The second reason is personal, as I stayed at the basis of the foundation of the company which launched this photovoltaic park today. This is an important project, which contributes to strengthening Moldova’s security in terms of energy. Such projects are meant to reduce the degree of the country’s dependence on imported resources. Moreover, the energy is clean, without emissions of CO2,” Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici said.
Besides the generation of electric energy, according to an agreement signed with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the project sees carrying out of researches on the development of alternative energy sources, especially of generating solar photovoltaic energy and enhancing the efficiency of conversion of solar energy into electric one. Moreover, specialists in the field will be trained at the photovoltaic installation constructed, in order to develop the qualities needed and demanded by this new industry.
