Moldovan deputy premier meets US envoy

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic today met US Ambassador to Moldova James Pettit, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

In the context of holding a new round of negotiations in the 5+2 format due in Rome, Italy, on 29-30 May, the officials approached the current situation in the negotiation process and secotal working groups. They pointed out the necessity of starting in the near future the meetings of the human rights working group and the development of positive dynamics within the other working groups.

At the same time, Lesnic noted the recent progress in the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol. The official said that the number of meetings at the level of experts on both banks of the Dniestre river had increased not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively testifying tangible results.

At the end, the official voiced hope that as a result of the negotiations in the near round of the 5+2 format, prerequisites will be created to boost the interaction the sides in order to solve the more pressing problems faced by the inhabitants of both banks of the Dniestre.
