Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/ - End consumers starting from 1 July 2018 will pay for electric energy by 13 per cent less than at present. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has presented for public consultations a draft on adjusting the tariffs of electric energy distribution and the regulated prices for electricity supply, provided by the Power Distribution Grid North (RED Nord) and Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord (Electric Energy Supply North), as well as Gas Natural Fenosa Group, which sees higher than double diminution against the one demanded by distribution and supply companies.
According to ANRE’s calculations, the tariff for the electric energy supply by Gas Natural Fenosa Energy Supply to household consumers is proposed to be cut by 12.7 per cent, from 1.99 lei for one KW/hour to 1.74 lei; for consumers whose installations are connected to the medium-tension power distribution networks (6-10 KV), the prices will be reduced from 1.82 lei to 1.58 lei for one KW/hour and for the consumers connected to the high-tension power distribution networks (35, 100 KV), the tariffs will be cut from 1.53 to 1.32 lei for one KW/hour.
ANRE said that the financial deviations from 2018, accumulated against the background of a considerable appreciation of the Moldovan leu against the U.S. dollar, had been taken into consideration.
According to the draft of the regulatory authority, the regulated prices for electric energy supplied to end consumers in the first two months of 2018 are to be calculated downwards too.
The Gas Natural Fenosa in Moldova Group in late last April unveiled to ANRE the requests on the adjusting of tariffs for the distribution service and the regulated process for electric energy supply. Under the draft, the tariffs for household consumers are to be cut by 5.5 per cent, from 1.99 lei for one KW/hour to 1.87,99 lei for one KW/hour.
Starting from 1 April 2018, energy companies from Moldova buy electric energy at a price of 5.24 USD cents for one KW/hour. Although the acquisition price offered by the two suppliers is lower than the one from the previous contract, the tariffs paid by citizens for electric energy consumed will not increase, but on the contrary, will decrease, according to insurances given by the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry. And this on grounds that, following the introduction of a new methodology of calculating prices, as well as of the considerable appreciation of the Moldovan leu, solutions were identified not to allow the increase in tariffs because of the difference between the present and previous contract.
ANRE also suggests that the regulated prices for electric energy supplied by the Electric Energy Supply North company for household consumers from northern Moldova be cut from 2.12 lei for one KW/hour to 1.91 lei. The prices will be cut from 1.84 lei to 1.66 lei for one KW/hour for consumers whose installations are connected to the medium-tension power distribution networks.
The last adjusting of tariffs for electric energy was made on 17 March 2017, when the tariff for residents and consumers connected to the medium-tension power networks was increased.
