23 day-long camps to be opened in Chisinau

Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/- In Chisinau, 23 day-long camps will be opened, hosting over 2,000 children. 375 children will benefit from free tickets. Interim head of the Education, Youth and Sport Directorate of Chisinau Rodica Gutu made the statement.

The official said that over 5,000 children will be resting in the three round-trip camps at the Education Department of Botanica and Centre, 790 of them will benefit from free tickets. Leased camps will be able to offer activities for 6,000 children, of whom 1,000 will receive free tickets. The amount allocated from the municipal budget for this purpose is over 8.7 million lei. Other about 5 million lei will be earmarked for children’s recreation in sports camps.

According to data by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, about 80 recreational camps will operate this summer and about 60,000 children will benefit from the services. The price for a day in camps in the country is 175 lei, and the financing of the camps will be made from the state budget and local budgets, from the amounts paid by parents and resources allocated by enterprises, organizations and associations.

At the same time, the authorities announced they will purchase 100 tickets for Romanian pupils and 300 tickets for pupils from the general education institutions in the eastern districts of Moldova, which are subordinated to the ministry.

Rest camps will operate in June-August.
